Mission

The Mission We Have Chosen To Accept:

Housed in a former Methodist church built in 1912, in Marshall, NC, the county seat of Madison County, NC, The French Broad Institute (Of Time & the River) was formed in 2007 to serve the community of Marshall and surrounding areas by providing a forum for curated collaborations, multidisciplinary performances, as an investigative think tank for re-imagining the relationship between traditional and avant-garde arts, and between the time-based arts and the natural sciences.  We function through collective volunteer community members in a environment that encourages a meaningful daily artistic practice for all.
